CDI has an exciting opportunity waiting for you! We are looking for exceptional people! We have an immediate need for Help Desk Support!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Assist with personal computer (PC) and laptop setup and configuration.
-Provide workstation hardware maintenance, including monitors and video drivers, disk drives, I/O cards, controller cards, network interface cards, memory, printers, workstation and patch panel cabling. Must have a strong background with hard disk imaging and software deployment
-Continually review future product releases of software and hardware as they relate to the infrastructure that has been installed.
- Assist with hardware and software asset tracking
- Activities include daily documentation of task, helpdesk cases and project status.
-Diagnose Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and administration of Personal Storage Files.
-Troubleshoot workstation Dial-Up and VPN issues
Candidate must have strong troubleshooting skills. Must be able to diagnoses and troubleshoot hardware and software malfunctions. Maintains and document microcomputer network, hardware inventory and workstation setups.
Candidate must be customer service oriented and support the user population throughout the organization through a managed helpdesk. The candidate will assist with help desk requests and telephone calls limited to less then two (2) hours daily of shared support.
Must have strong skills in Windows 2000/XP/NT desktop TCP/IP networking protocols
Sufficient documentation and communication skills must be able to produce configuration, procedure, and troubleshooting documents.
Maintain a high quality of work standard work successfully from written and verbal instructions.
Candidate should basic familiarity with telecommunications. An in depth knowledge is a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
-Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma is required.
-At least 3 years of related experience, including progressively responsible experience and/or training in hardware and software evaluation (e.g. selection, design, purchase, implementation, on-going support).
-Candidate must have at least 2 year involvement with microcomputer technology, telecommunications and Windows based Operating Systems.
-A two-year certificate in computer science or business information systems from a recognized institution of post secondary education (college or technical/trade school) is preferred.
Must have experience in the following:
-Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows2003
- WINS, DHCP, NT Domain, Active Directory
-TCP/IP for Microsoft Networking
-Remote Access systems and VPN
-PC Hardware installation and troubleshooting
-Self-motivated team player ready to assist others in solving problems
